Stephen is an attorney and professional guardian specializing in Veterans Guardianship. He currently serves as guardian and fiduciary for a number of disabled veterans in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area, and attorney for both family and professional guardians.
A professional musician before attending law school, he became involved with not-for-profit organization management and fundraising representing a number of prominent South Florida cultural organizations and specializing in obtaining grants from government agencies. Finding remarkable similarities working "in the system" helping creative artists and people adjudicated with mental disabilities, his transition to becoming a professional guardian was not a great stretch.
Stephen initially came to CareSource when his wife, Janis, took the Professional Guardian training course from CareSource Founder Knyvett Lee. Over many years his professional life intersected with Knyvett's, and when Elder Care Connection became a non-profit and changed its name to CareSource, Inc. in 2000, he volunteered to sit on the Board of Directors. Stephen has just finished serving as Board President and has taken on the position of Secretary. |
