A strong advocate for the elderly, Knyvett Lee has been working in the healthcare field since 1978. She formed CareSource (formerly The ElderCare Connection) in 1992 and has worked diligently to improve the quality of care for all needy individuals on both local and statewide levels. Affirming her strong belief in education, she worked with the 17th Judicial Circuit to require all Broward County professional guardians to take a 40-hour certificate course several years before the requirement was mandated on a statewide basis. Knyvett served on Governor Bush's Guardianship Task Force, assisted the National Guardianship Foundation in the creation of the Florida Guardian Competency exam, and most recently sat on the Examining Committee Curriculum Workgroup, designing the state-mandated training curriculum for all Examining Committee Members. She is or has been affiliated with a number of local, state and national organizations, several of which are dedicated to advancing best practices in care management and guardianship. They are:

Dolores has worked for CareSource since 1995, starting as a part-time bookkeeper. She is now the Chief Financial Officer, coordinating all of the financial and administrative functions associated with running a non-profit organization. She supervises the Administrative Department, which includes our paralegal and clerical staff. Dolores has over 35 years bookkeeping and management experience, and has successfully completed numerous training opportunities over the years related to accounting, non-profit management, guardianship and human resources. She has volunteered at numerous organizations such as the Girl Scouts of Broward County, St. David's Catholic Church, Nova High School Choral Parents Association and Women in Healthcare, and is currently the President of the Broward County Guardianship Association. Dolores is a member in good standing of the American Association of Daily Money Managers, is a Nationally Certified Guardian and has been a Notary Public since 1981. Stella Gerbasi has been with CareSource since 2003 serving as a Care Manager and Senior Care Manager before becoming Director of Care Management in 2009. She supervises our Care Managers and associate staff of the department. Stella has a Medical Assistant's Degree, and prior to coming to CareSource spent 12 years in the medical field as a Certified Medical Assistant, X-ray technician, Lab Manager and Office Manager in a medical office. She is currently researching BSN programs to enhance her technical expertise. " In my experience the greatest aspect of my job here at CareSource is having the opportunity to act as a bridge for our clients so they are able to tap in to the resources that are available to them or facilitate continuity of medical care, coordinate a homecoming and even arranging a family reunion. CareSource represents the one constant voice for our clients that they may not otherwise be able to express due to their disability...a smile on our clients' faces and assisting them with providing a sense of independence is all the reward I need. "

Lilly joined CareSource in the newly-created position of Director of Financial Services in May 2011. She received her Bachelor's of Arts in Accounting from Florida International University. Lilly worked for the Guardianship Program of Miami-Dade County for eight years starting as an executive assistant and quickly moved up to Program Director and Director of Operations. She also served as the secretary of the Coalition to Prevent Abuse of Vulnerable Adults and has been a Nationally Certified Guardian since 2008. Lilly is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily money management, property, and benefits and entitlement applications, to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients. She supervises a staff of three financial specialists and meets with clients and families as needed. "I like working for CareSource because I everyone is passionate about their contribution to our mission. The quality of care and professionalism that our clients receive is what I would want for my own family ".

Terry has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Western Connecticut State University. She attended college part-time while raising three children and has worked at CareSource since 1999. She has worked in the Financial Department in many capacities over the years. She now serves as Financial Administrator, supporting our Financial Specialists' work, as well as auditing financial transactions, reconciling bank statements, preparing annual accountings, and overseeing the tax compliance and investment business of our clients. " I learn something new every day, particularly so much about the elderly and people with disabilities. It is a rewarding experience to know that you are helping people have a better quality of life. I love my co-workers, who are like family ".

Charmaine came to CareSource in early 2008. As Senior Financial Specialist, she maintains a portfolio of clients, some under guardianship, for whom she oversees their daily money management needs and transactions. Charmaine brings to this task a background in finance with a Bachelor's Degree and work experience in financial institutions both in her native Jamaica and in the United States. She serves as the lead Financial Specialist in our outreach as a partner in the Building Generations program in Coral Springs, offering benefit application and financial literacy services to community residents.

Monica joined CareSource in September 2011 as a Financial Specialist. She has worked for a non-profit guardianship agency for more than 9 years starting as an entitlements clerk and after only a year was promoted to a property coordinator. She received extensive training and was responsible for processing medical claims, banking, tax preparation and inventories of clients' homes. As part of her responsibilities she worked in cooperation with financial and real estate professionals to ensure her clients were financially protected. " CareSource is a well established, resourceful agency and it is rewarding for me to be a part of a team of professionals who are dedicated to preventing abuse, neglect, and exploitation of vulnerable individuals in our community ".

Alan joined CareSource in 2008 as a Care Manager, bringing to us his long and varied experience in not-for-profit agencies. In the past, he has combined both direct involvement in the treatment settings of medical institutions and a proven ability to design, develop and administer programs that demonstrate quantifiable improvement in service delivery. Alan has a Bachelor's in Human Development and a Master of Arts in Church Social Services. He is on the Board of the Wesley Group Home in Hallandale and is a congregant of the First United Methodist Church of Coral Springs, where he sings bass in the Sanctuary, Men's and A Capella Choirs. Paulette has been at CareSource since 2009. Before joining CareSource, she took the 40-hour Professional Guardianship class offered by CareSource and subsequently participated in our internship program prior to taking the national and state exam. Paulette was preparing to strike out on her own as a guardian when asked to join our team as a Care Manager. She has an extensive background as a Health Care Consultant in managed care and sales and marketing, recruitment and strategic planning in the medical arena, where she identified and developed best practices of service delivery and operational readiness. She is a Nationally Certified Guardian, and has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Marketing. Paulette is a member of the Guardianship Associations of Florida and Broward and Palm Beach Counties. She serves in the St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church Ministry and the Madonna Council of Catholic Women. " What I like about working for CareSource is being witness to the metamorphosis of our clients and sharing in the joy of their new found freedom to simply live their life with dignity and respect ".

Brillytza joined CareSource in September 2011 as a Care Manager. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Florida International University in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology and completed the Professional Guardianship course at Miami Dade College. Brillytza worked for the Guardianship Program of Dade County where she was a case manager representing adults who were adjudicated incapacitated. She managed a case load of up to 100 clients and was responsible for regular visitations, attendance to probate, criminal and state hospital court hearings, and financial oversight. She established and maintained relationships with client's support systems including family, friends and professionals. She has been an active volunteer working with children and the elderly. " What is unique about CareSource is the type of quality care that we strive for and how that care is tailored to fit the specific needs of our vulnerable clients ".

Lila has been with CareSource since 2005 and brings to us a wealth of administrative experience as an Office Manager, Executive Assistant and supervisor over many years. She has a Bachelor's Degree from Hunter College, New York. Lila ran her own business in New York City for 20 years, and was also affiliated with Don King Productions in the staging of boxing bouts that featured Muhammed Ali. She is a salsa dancing aficionado and an amateur/showcase theater hoofer. " What I like about CareSource is that the joyful camaraderie with my fellow workers is fulfilling and makes my day happily productive and self-satisfying ".

Iris joined the CareSource team in 2007 after many years of experience with several well-known financial institutions in positions as Trust and Investment Administrator, Money Market Trader and Brokerage Operations Office Manager. Her last employer was the American Express Company where she was involved in various aspects of running a successful call center operation. Iris holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Hunter College and completed a Diploma Program in Paralegal Studies at New York University. Because of her love of the arts, Iris has made a significant difference in the Broward County schools by her extensive dedication as a volunteer to the music and arts programs. Iris has coordinated and taught several programs and is also a certified Broward County substitute teacher. She enjoys traveling and has studied abroad. Iris is proud to be part of a team which goes that extra mile to make a difference!
